I'm thinking of summer and what I want out of it as if it were a fizzy, sweet pop song. I'm worth it.

I have been looking forward to mango season since the 2017 mango season ended. So as the first act of my summer manifesto, I vow to eat as much mango as I can. Don't even think about feeding me this summer if you are not offering hella mango.

I will accept as many invitations as I feel like accepting. I don't get asked to do a lot of things, which is low-key rude. I think it's still quite important to be asked to do things even though the asker knows your answer will be no. Ask me, damn! I have been dropping hints about wanting to be invited to picnics since, like, August and I will say yes to as many things I feel comfortable going to this summer. Just... don't make me have to take two taxis bbz.

I hesitate to even think this, let alone write it, but I want to be happier. I want to feel better. It's certainly not something I can fully control with depression sitting right there. But, as a starting point, I want to cry less. I mean those self-loathing tears that are always around the corner. I want to do things that make me feel okay such as spending time with my sister and being present. She's legit my favourite person but at times, because of exhaustion from the mental illness and the constant fight to stay afloat AND, I can feel myself missing things. So I hope to be more present this summer: A few new shows to watch together, making her come with me thrifting, a movie date hopefully, reading together outside.

As part of mission happy, I will be doing more skin care things. I'm currently nursing a hormonal breakout and if I can get through it, there's a nice summer of hydrating and moisturising ahead of me. Even though I get lazy, I will cut my hair as often as possible. I will lie on a blanket outside often. I will listen to the music I love while lying on a blanket outside and eating mangoes.

And although I can't completely control it, I think I'm ready to have some sex too. So the next time the CORRECT opportunity presents itself, a ghel will be open. I think. I will also wear things that make me feel great! Currently on my mind is loungewear -- I need things to wear around the house!!! Shorts, flowy dresses and trousers, hella barely-there elasticated waists, things that are great for the bra-free life. Then there will be the occasional pretty dress. And comfortable shoes, always.
