Where we stayed in the Eastern Cape

Remember how excited I was about my stay at Fairmount Resort Zimbali? With my recent press tour with SA Tourism, I got to stay in three hotels! While I was cold the first two nights, the rooms were all cosy and lovely. Below I share my Eastern Cape accommodation diary.

Accommodation in Port Elizabeth

In Port Elizabeth, we stayed at The Beach Hotel, which is right across the beach. I think it's a convenient location. It was a garden room with twin beds. I had two problems with the room at The Beach Hotel: the room was darker than I would have liked. I was also very cold. I kept the heater on most of the night, which had me so anxious.

The breakfast was cute af! I wished I'd woken up earlier to enjoy it.

On day two, we stayed at the Cape St Francis Resort, which is stunning. We had gorgeous villas on the beach. The units are self-catering and the ones we were in were four-bedroom with two masters and two children's rooms, I shared my villa with two other bbz (Kgosi and Tshepang). The villa had a sitting area, kitchen and outside den-ish area. There was a pool as well as outdoor furniture -- not to mention a day bed by the kitchen window.

The Cape St Francis Resort villas had me thinking of a friends holiday where we cook and eat together and swim together and hang out on our own in the beautiful place. They also offer backpacking accommodation in the resort that starts at around R250.

My night at the Tsitsikamma inn was the best one. I wasn't cold -- in fact, the electric blanket did wonders for my menstrual cramps. It elevated the whole hot water bottle concept. The bathroom felt like a whole hobbit cabin and I Hagrid. This hotel also had the best wifi situation of the whole trip so I spent my whole night listening to Unapologetic and wishing some boy would text.

I had a garden room with a double bed and sliding door, fitting nje.

We didn't stay anywhere long enuf to even use the tea/coffee amenities but I was impressed by each place's collection and effort.
