On the new Suzuki Swift and #AllTheRightFeels

So first of all, you probably clicked on this wondering since when I drive. I still don't, my license is still but a fog within reach but totally uncatchable. Or something like that. But I was part of a test drive of new cars recently and I want to tell you about one of the cars, the new Suzuki Swift.

Last week I was part of a press trip (for my day job) organised by Suzuki to introduce the new generations of their Swift and Dzire models to media. The experience was amazing -- I have a video up and a post coming later 5his week on the experience! I was partnered with a lovely veteran motoring journalist from George named Anica and we got into it, her driving and me directing her.

While in the Dzire, the first car we drove -- you know what I mean -- I was pleasantly surprised by its roominess for my long af knees but it just felt like a cute, cosy Uber. Not something I could own or call my own.

On the other hand, the Suzuki Swift, the buttery bae, felt like a car I could go steady with. We could take trips and be on the road very late at night -- I could probably find a cute name for it. It looked and felt sporty and I could imagine my sister and I going on drives. I could see myself with two, maybe three, of my closest friends going somewhere in it.

I went to the launch of the new Suzuki Swift not expecting a resonance of this level. I may pretend to be cool but maybe I'm just ordinary because here I am, gaga over a car that was made with "millennials" in mind.

I found the car to be model pretty -- pretty but not in an obvious way. It also looks like it can handle quite a bit on the roads and my journalist kept saying how easy it drives.

Suzuki Swift 1.2 GA Manual R159, 900 (including VAT)
Suzuki Swift 1.2 GL Manual R175, 900 (including VAT) Is available at a special launch price of R169, 900
Suzuki Swift 1.2 GL AMT R189, 900 (including VAT)

It's taken everything in me to not look up the price as broken down into monthly instalments.
