Why the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Proofing  purifying toner is the one for me

Full disclosure: I've never really gotten the point of toners. In fact, I'm one of those people who low-key believe the three-step skincare routine is something of a scam. We need more steps but also ugh, why so many steps. As much of a toner sceptic as I am, I do miss it when I run out. But I have found a toner that makes the concept make sense!

In the last two months, my skincare routine has suddenly become mostly Neutrogena products and I can't complain. It started with me finally getting the Hydro-Boost water gel cleanser and here we are. My favourite thing about my current routine is that I can tell it will hold as winter approaches and I'll be that hydrated ghel.

The big news about this product is that it contains salicylic acid! This ingredient is said to have acne-fighting properties, which are great for this bbz with oily skin who has at least one breakout monthly. So salicylic acid in the ingredient that's working to prevent dirt and dead cells from forming black or whiteheads or into acne. I'm convinced that if I had a nighttime skincare routine (don't judge me!) my face would be on a new level with this product in my arsenal.

Three things I like about the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Proofing toner"

Unlike the toners I've used in the past up to recent memory, the Visibly Clear toner is not out to strip and dry my face. Nope. In fact, when I'm done applying it, I can feel product on my skin!

I don't care about my face being matte because, euw. The toner and my current moisturisers have been giving me a dewy-if-shiny look. The product that's "left" on my skin contributes to this.

The smell isn't overpowering and the tingling is not sustained. I think my face tingled that one time only, which is comforting to me because then I definitely know that my skin is not being slowly bleached. I hope.

Compared to my previous toner, the Daily Essentials one from Nivea, this is exactly what my skin needs.
