Fuck Flattering

south african plus size blogger, bright plus size look

Hot, hot pink

If you follow me on Twitter -- which I highly recommended because you're missing out on my bad jokes and breakdowns disguised as jokes if you aren't following me there -- you know that last week I got my first Mobu By Melo. Mamello, the founder and designer of Mobu By Melo, was my first "The Plus Conversations" and I haven't taken my eye off what she's doing ever since. Her shop Instagram is filled with all these grand photoshoots with models whose bodies are the same as mine. I was looking at one of these photoshoots when I spotted a tiered dress in pink.

Unless you're an actual fat person who doesn't care about the fashion rule book thrown at fat people and wear clothes because they give you joy or make you feel or help you express, then you won't understand how hard it is to find oversized clothing and BIG silhouettes. The pool shrinks even more if ugly is not what you're going for.

I ended up changing my mind because, knowing how boring I can get, I probably wouldn't wear the tiered dress as much because it seemed like such a #mood thing. So I ended up buying this one. I remember WhatsApping Mamello (who made it super fast!) my usual dress size and asking that this dress be sized up because that's the vision. If I ever go anywhere this summer, this is likely what I will be wearing. Not always "accentuating," angithi? Sometimes fuck an "asset." Always fuck flattering.
